Decryptr is for adults
You must be 18 or over to use Decryptr. Everyone confirms this when they create an account, and it is a condition of our Terms of Use. If we find or are told that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it.
Zero tolerance
Any content or behaviour that sexually exploits, abuses or endangers a child is banned absolutely. This includes child sexual abuse material, sexualised images or descriptions of children, grooming, sextortion, and any attempt to contact a child for sexual purposes or to trade or ask for such material.
There are no warnings and no second chances. This applies to posts, replies, profile names, pictures and bios, images and video, and anything shared by link.
How to report
Anyone can report a concern, including people who do not have an account:
- In the app: open the ⋯ menu on any post, reply or profile and tap Report.
- By email: support@decryptr.ai, with a link to the post or profile if you have one.
- If a child is in immediate danger, call 999 in the UK (or your local emergency number) first. You can also report to CEOP or, for images and video online, the Internet Watch Foundation.
Please do not download, screenshot or share the content yourself, even to report it.
What we do with a report
A person reviews every report, and we act on reports within 24 hours. Reports about child safety are reviewed first. Where content breaks this standard we:
- remove it immediately;
- ban the account permanently and stop it from returning;
- preserve the evidence securely for law enforcement;
- report it to the National Crime Agency, and to other authorities where the law requires it;
- cooperate fully with any police investigation.
How we prevent it
- Everyone must confirm they are 18 or over before they can post or reply.
- Automated checks screen posts, replies, images and profiles before and after they go live, and flag anything suspicious to a person.
- Users can block anyone, and blocking stops that person from seeing or replying to their posts.
- Everyone who reviews reports works to this standard and knows how to escalate a report to the authorities.
The law we follow
Decryptr Limited complies with the child safety laws that apply to it, including the Online Safety Act 2023 and the Protection of Children Act 1978 in the UK, and with the laws of the countries where Decryptr is available.
