How traders are ranked
Follower counts measure attention, not accuracy. The Calls board ranks only sealed, scored calls, over the last 30 days and over all time.
Ranking by the raw hit rate would put someone who got 2 calls right out of 2 above someone who got 70 right out of 100. So the board uses a cautious lower bound on the hit rate, which only rises with a bigger sample.
- Over 30 days a trader needs at least 5 scored calls to be ranked, and over all time at least 10.
- Traders choose to be ranked. Nobody is placed on the board without opting in.
- Accounts that are suspended or banned, and Decryptr's own team accounts, are left off.
Levels has its own board
Levels, the free daily Bitcoin game, scores every player from 0 to 100 against the real price and keeps a leaderboard of its own, with a recap of each round.
How to read the board
Look at two numbers together: the hit rate and the count of scored calls behind it. A modest hit rate over a hundred calls is usually more informative than a perfect one over three.
Then open the profile. The coins a trader calls, how long they have been calling and whether their record is rising or falling tell you more than a single rank. Switch between the 30 day and all time boards to see whether a rank is recent or earned over a long run.
What a leaderboard cannot tell you
A rank describes the past. Markets change, and the trader at the top this month may not be there next month. Use it to find people worth reading, not to decide what to trade.
Questions
How does the Decryptr leaderboard rank traders?
- By a cautious lower bound on each trader's hit rate across their scored calls, so a larger sample ranks higher than a short lucky run.
How many calls do I need to be ranked?
- At least 5 scored calls in the last 30 days, or 10 over all time, and you must opt in to be ranked.
Can I be on the leaderboard without posting calls?
- No. Only scored calls count, so there is nothing to rank until your calls have been scored.
Is the top trader a good one to copy?
- The board shows a record, not a recommendation. Decryptr does not tell anyone what to buy or sell, and past results do not predict future ones.
Decryptr is not financial advice and does not tell anyone what to buy or sell. Past calls and past results do not predict future ones. Cryptoassets are high risk. Read the risk warning.
