API Terms
The agreement between you and Decryptr Limited for using the Decryptr API and its data. What you may do on each plan, personal data, attribution, limits, billing, suspension and liability.
These are the full terms for the Decryptr API. You accept them when you create an API key, and we store the version you accepted (2026-10-23) with the key. They were last updated on 23 October 2026.
1. Who we are and who these terms cover
The API is provided by Decryptr Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (number 17484593), registered office 18B Gregory Street, Nottingham, NG7 2LR. "We" and "us" mean Decryptr Limited. You can reach us at [email protected].
"You" means the person who creates the key, and the business they act for, if any. If you accept these terms for a business, you confirm you are allowed to bind it. You must be at least 18.
These terms sit alongside the Terms of Use for your Decryptr account and the Privacy Notice. Where they conflict on use of the API, these terms apply. An Enterprise contract signed with us overrides these terms where it says so.
2. Words we use
- The API: the Decryptr API at data.decryptr.ai, its documentation, and anything it returns.
- Data: everything the API returns, and anything you compute from it.
- Person-level data: data about one identifiable or pseudonymous person, such as a public call, a caller's track record, a verified trader's record or a place on the leaderboard.
- Your plan: the plan your account is on (Developer, Starter, Pro, Business or Enterprise), as set out on Plans and pricing.
3. Your account and keys
- Keys belong to one Decryptr account and its plan. Keep them secret and use them only from your own servers, never in an app or web page you ship to others.
- Do not share keys with anyone outside your organisation, and do not open several accounts to get more calls or around a limit.
- You are responsible for everything done with your keys. If a key leaks, revoke it at once on Your API keys and tell us at [email protected].
4. Your licence
While these terms are in force and your plan is paid, we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to call the API and use the Data for the uses your plan allows. What each plan allows is set out in Data and licensing. In short:
| Plan | Use |
|---|---|
| Developer | Non-commercial use: personal projects, research, trying the API. |
| Starter | Commercial use in your own internal tools and low-volume products. |
| Pro | Display data and values derived from it in your product. |
| Business | Display in a customer-facing product at scale. |
| Enterprise | Redistribution and white-label use, under contract. |
We, and the people who post on Decryptr, keep all rights in the Data. Nothing else is licensed to you.
5. What you must not do
Unless an Enterprise contract says otherwise, you must not:
- resell, sublicense, publish or redistribute the Data beyond what your plan allows, or offer an API, feed, export, download or mirror of it;
- use person-level data to train, fine-tune or evaluate any AI or machine learning model, or use any Data to train a model offered as a product that competes with Decryptr;
- try to identify any person or wallet behind pseudonymous or aggregated Data, or combine the Data with other information to do so;
- use person-level data to contact, profile, track, score or make decisions about the people in it, for example for credit, employment, insurance or marketing;
- collect Data in bulk to build a competing dataset, or scrape the Decryptr app or website instead of using the API;
- get around rate limits, quotas, scopes or plan restrictions, or test, probe or attack the API's security;
- present the Data in a way that is misleading, that suggests Decryptr endorses you, or that turns it into a recommendation to buy or sell;
- use the API or the Data in breach of any law, including data protection, financial promotion and sanctions law.
6. Personal data
Person-level data is personal data. When you receive it, you are an independent controller of it under UK data protection law (and the EU GDPR where it applies to you). That means:
- You need your own lawful basis for what you do with it, and you must tell people what you do where the law requires.
- Deletions. When people delete content, make their account private, switch off API visibility, withdraw their trading record or object, we list it on
/v1/tombstones. If you keep any person-level data, you must read/v1/tombstonesat least once a day and delete what it lists within 24 hours. You must also delete any Data when we tell you to. - What the API never returns. Messages, private groups, stories, anything on a private account, anything visible only to followers or members, photos and images, wallet addresses, balances, trades, journals or portfolios, email, device or payment details, and anything deleted or removed. If you ever receive any of these by mistake, delete it and tell us.
- Security. Keep the Data secure, with access limited to people who need it.
- Breaches. Tell us within 72 hours if person-level data you received is lost, stolen or accessed without permission.
- Transfers. If you are outside the UK and in a country the UK does not treat as adequate, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses (or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement) applies to the person-level data we send you, and is part of these terms. Business and Enterprise customers can ask us for a signed data protection agreement.
- Plans. Person-level data is only available from the Pro plan up.
We may ask you to confirm in writing that you meet this section, and suspend person-level access if you cannot.
7. Attribution
- Wherever you display the Data, or anything you computed from it, show "Data by Decryptr" with a link to
https://www.decryptr.ai, unless we have waived this in writing. - Responses derived from Hyperliquid's public data carry this line in their
attributionfield. Keep it with that Data wherever you show it or anything computed from it:
Includes data derived from Hyperliquid public data.8. Information only, not investment advice
The Data is information. It is not investment advice, a personal recommendation, or an offer or invitation to buy, sell or hold anything. Decryptr Limited is not authorised or regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority. Track records are historical, crowd figures describe what people did, and past performance is not a guide to future performance.
If you show the Data to your own users, you are responsible for how you present it, including complying with the UK financial promotion rules (section 21 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and the FCA's rules on cryptoasset promotions) and any similar rules where you operate. Do not present Decryptr Data as advice, as a recommendation, or as coming from an authorised firm.
9. Limits, quotas and fair use
- Each plan has calls per month, per minute and a burst limit, set out in Rate limits and quotas. The monthly calls are a hard cap; there is no overage charge.
- Requests over a limit get
429. Back off and retry as the docs explain. - We may set other reasonable limits to protect the service, and we may change plan limits with at least 30 days' notice. We will not reduce what you have already paid for in the current period.
10. Fees and billing
- Paid plans are subscriptions, monthly or yearly, billed in advance by Decryptr Limited through Stripe. Prices are shown on Plans and pricing and exclude VAT, which is added where it applies.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel or change plan at any time in billing; changes are prorated by Stripe.
- If a payment fails, the API keeps working for 7 days with your per-second rate halved, then answers
402until it is paid. - When a subscription ends, every key is revoked and the account returns to the free Developer plan.
- Fees are not refundable for part periods, unless the law says otherwise. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. The new price applies from your next renewal after that.
11. Suspension and ending
- We can suspend a key or an account at once for abuse, a breach of these terms, a security risk, a legal reason, or a payment that is still unpaid after the grace period. A person at Decryptr decides; we never suspend a key automatically. We tell you why, and where it is safe to do so, we tell you first.
- We can switch off a dataset, or remove an item, at short notice, for example if a data source asks us to, the law changes, or a person exercises their rights.
- You can stop using the API and cancel at any time. We can end these terms with 30 days' notice, or at once if you seriously or repeatedly breach them.
- When these terms end, your licence ends. Stop using the API and, within 30 days, delete all person-level data and any other Data your plan no longer lets you keep. Sections 5, 6, 8, 13, 14 and 16 continue after the end.
12. Changes to the API and to these terms
- We follow the versioning policy: at least 6 months' notice before removing a version or a field you rely on, except where a data source, the law or a person's rights require faster change.
- We may change these terms. We will give at least 30 days' notice of a material change by email and in the changelog. Continuing to use the API after that means you accept the new terms. If you do not, cancel before they take effect.
13. Availability
The API and the Data are provided as they are and as available. We work to keep them accurate, complete and on time, but we do not promise that they will be, or that the API will always be available. Data can be delayed, corrected or withdrawn. Only an Enterprise contract can carry a service level agreement.
14. Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited.
- We are not liable for trading or investment losses, loss of profit, revenue, business or goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss.
- Otherwise, our total liability to you under or in connection with these terms is limited to the fees you paid us for the API in the 12 months before the event, or £100 if you have paid nothing.
15. Your responsibility to us
You are responsible for, and will cover our reasonable losses and costs from, any claim by a third party that arises because you breached section 5, 6 or 8, for example by misusing person-level data or presenting the Data as financial advice.
16. General
- Confidentiality. Keep keys, and anything we mark as confidential, secret.
- Assignment. You may not transfer these terms without our written agreement. We may transfer them to a company that takes over the API.
- Whole agreement. These terms, your plan and any Enterprise contract are the whole agreement about the API.
- Third parties. Nobody else has rights under these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
- If a part is invalid, the rest still applies.
- Notices to us go to [email protected]. Notices to you go to the email on your Decryptr account.
17. Law and disputes
These terms, and any dispute about them, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Please come to us first: most things are sorted out quickly by email to [email protected].
